Delicious Freshzest herbs fresh from our greenhouse <br />to your dinner plate in as little as 24 hours.

Have you ever wondered exactly <br />where your food comes from?

In the case of fresh culinary herbs, <br/>the journey looks something like this:

Seeds are planted & seedlings grown in the nursery.

Seedlings are planted into the growing beds,<br /> filled with a sand mixture.

Plants grow, taking 3-8 weeks to mature.

During this time they are fed 24 hours a day and <br />kept at a stable temperature in the greenhouse.

When it's too cold, heaters automatically <br />come on to increase the temperature.

When it's too hot, an automated misting <br />system turns on and sunshades roll out.

Herbs are harvested by specially trained pickers <br />and placed into large tubs.

Herbs are transported from the warm <br />greenhouse into a cooler environment.

Here they're packed into punnets or sleeves <br />removing any bad stems along the way.

Then they're boxed up ready for pallets. <br />The packhouse is a brisk 15 degrees.

Back to the coolroom to await collection.

Refrigerated trucks arrive at the farm <br/>each day to pick up the days produce.

The next destination for most <br />Freshzest herbs is a Distribution Centre.

At the DC the trays of herbs wait to be picked <br />and packed for transport directly to stores.

The herbs are then lovingly placed on <br />the shelves by Produce managers.

Where they are quickly purchased by keen cooks <br />making a delicious dinner tonight!
